The objective of our Online A-Level Religious Studies Course to develop student's understanding of religion and how it relates to the world. During this course the student will reflect on and develop his own values, opinions and attitudes.   • 2. World Religions 1: Buddhism

  • Samsara and the three marks of existence
  • The Four Noble Truths
  • The Eightfold Path
  • The Sangha
  • 3. New Testament

  • The context of John's Gospel
  • The nature, role and purpose of the discourses in John's Gospel
  • The nature, role and purpose of signs in John's Gospel
  • The nature, role and purpose of the passion and resurrection narratives
  • 4. Ways of Moral Decision-Making

  • Medical research and medical developments
  • Business practice and economics
  • During this course you will use a mixture of lessons, activities, core reading and assessments.

    Course Duration

    360 hours GLH (Guided Learning Hours)

    Assessment

    The course contains a number of assignments which your tutor will mark and give the student valuable feedback on. These are called Tutor Marked Assignments (TMAs).

    Examinations

    AS Level

    • Unit 1 and Unit 2 - Introduction to Religious Studies- Written Examination in each unit: 1 hour 15 minutes

    A2 Level

    • Unit 3: Studies in Religion- Written Examination: 1 hour 30 minutes
    • Unit 4: Religion and Human Experience- Written Examination: 1 hour 30 minutes

    AS + A2 = A level in Religious Studies. Both AS and A2 level courses and examinations must be successfully completed to gain a full A level.
